Dada may come down earlier but the soonest that I can be there is about 8pm

my fault for not checking the time and assuming the meal would be later

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal last night. I just copied Mr DG's choices :D - grilled swordfish on a bed of Chinese-style stir fried veg surrounded by mussels - and was not disappointed in the slightest. And Sandra, you were spot on about the amaretto basket of ice cream. Delicious!
Service was excellent as usual and it was great to meet Foxy for the first time.
I'm already looking forward to the next POL night out.......... :lol:

Very enjoyable evening. Good company, great food and excellent hosts. I've been in for coffee a few times but this was my first meal in Sizzlers and I was very impressed.

Monet and Morad know how to run a restaurant. It starts with a warm and genuine welcome, efficient and friendly service and a menu stuffed full of favourite dishes. The food is unpretentious and good value. Sizzlers doesn't pretend to be a fancy restaurant but it still knocks spots off many that do. I went for the swordfish as well and it was very good.

Every table was taken and all evening people were being turned away. Sizzlers deserves its success and proves to the doubters that there is a great demand in Portobello for quality food. Why have we had to wait so long?

We, too had a great night for all the above reasons. Nice to meet up with those who came along and nice to meet you Foxy at last. Hope that more PoLers manage to come along to the next night out.

Well done to Sizzlers! As consistant as always at providing a welcoming service to a high standard in a relaxed atmosphere. And well done Charles, the wonderful French chef - Food was amazing!

Good night had by all :D . Look forward to the next one.

Really enjoyed Sizzlers too. What a bonus it is for Portobello to have such an up market restaurant with excellent food and service.

It was very daunting to walk into a restaurant to meet 8 virtual strangers but you made me feel very welcome and it's now great to be able to visualise you all

I ended up in Ricks and rolled home about 2.30, but feel amazingly fresh today :D

Sounds like good time enjoyed by all.

I was actually in Sizzlers on Saturday lunchtime catching up with a friend - very nice is is too and very reasonable.

I really enjoyed last night; couldn't fault the food or the service. Company a bit dodgy though... :wink:

Drank slightly more than usual and had no hangover - bonus! Especially as I've spent from 2.30 to 9.10 writing my *y&^^£$% essay. I will either be extremely restrained and quiet this week, or I will be here all the time (and manic!) as an avoidance strategy.

I have no recollection of that conversation and don't think I was party to it, although I do remember the sambuca - and jolly nice it was too!

there appeared to be a few free Sambucas around our end of the table lol

I donated mine to needy cases - Epykat and GG. I liked the taste of it but not the level of alcohol!
