Is it too late to introduce myself as a newbie here when I've already been online looking for a cat and a clarsach?..

'The Cat and Clarsach' sounds like a good name for the POL pub that, erm, someone is organising to take the place of the Figgate...

Hiya. I have decided to stick my nose in here as an ex Porty High boy who has deserted to Leith but still has family ties in Porty. (maw and paw)
I saw this forum reading over someones shoulder at work and decided to sign up and make sure he is behaving himself! (sorry mate.)
Yesterday Porty, today Leith tomorrow St Lucia.....it's a natural progression.

Hi,
I am a Mate of Marya. Although, I do believe she has one or two others..
I have often logged in to the Portobello Forum, as a guest. I enjoy some of the debates/discussions going on.
I have decided to stop being a lurker. I am now a poster. :
P.S. How long will it take Marya to guess who I am?

A warm welcome. It won't take Marya long to guess who you are - as a moderator she only has to move her mouse over your "email" button and it'll tell her your email address!!

Thanks but short notice.
Hope you all have a good night, but do try and behave yourselves.
As a new member I don't want to read about any unfavourable events in "Portobello Matters."
Keep me in mind for next event though!

Don't you believe it, MoM - when I mentioned that someone had registered who was a friend of hers, she assured me, in front of witnesses, that she
has no friends!
Welcome.

Well, it sounds like there's going to be a burns night where I get to toast the men. I expect that'll be at 'The Dalriada' - it has a real fire, doesn't it?

I was at college with Alison(from Dalriada), so I don't think she would bar me.......we had a very similar introduction to student life.
The night in question involved a quiet group of mothers being the first to arrive at the restaurant and the last to leave. A few glasses of wine did accompany our food. Unfortunately, similar to last nights events, somone not only dropped the contents of her handbag but, lost the actual bag, house keys and all. Her husband was abroad so we had difficulty getting her into her house; having no keys and the fact that she couldn't walk or even talk very well set us back a bit. The police were very helpful, and quite concerned about another mother who thought she had a broken ankle having fallen out of The Dalriada. The mother who fell over the first mother only scraped her knees.
So....a night out at Dalriada; sounds good.
