Another Friday and another night in as part of my New Year health kick. There are just too many tempting things on offer in the big bad world to venture outside on the best night of the week! :?

Dinner party in Joppa tonight (or does Joppa do Supper?) but still on mini health drive and therefore the wagon. I am however beginning to find it really amusing watching everybody else start to trip-splatter about from 9:00pm onwards. Not too long now till I join them though!

Enjoy your night POP (are you still of the booze?)

Both Bearcub and me are off sick today - but for valid ill reasons - Bearcub has cough and cold and I am recovering from a migrane which started as I was getting ready for work this morning.

I am happy this Friday.

I had BIG trouble with the company who was supposedly supplying my wedding dress - ordered in July 04 to be told in Feb 05 that they had never ordered - mega stress. (my mum is having major difficulty getting the money back from Bride & Beauty)

Got another today at Susan Gregory - blown the budget! They were superb - great service and WOW dress.

How awful for you to be let down like that with something as special as your wedding dress Sandra .Glad you got a new WOW dress sorted out. Hope you're having some bubbly to celebrate

Really glad to hear you got your dress sorted out. What a relief that must have been after the mess-up by the first shop. Perhaps your mum could consult citizens advice if she continues to have problems.

But well done you :D

DG

If it has to go to small Claims Court it will - the woman who has the shop is totally negligent - she took 50% of the dress cost (July 2004) and then 50% - 60 days later - the shop was Pronuptia and now Bride and Beauty. I only found out on Tuesday that she hadn't ordered the dress in the first place.

The good thing is that you don't have to worry now, Sandra. If there was going to be something go wrong then that was it - if anything the rest of your wedding has an outstanding balance of good karma it is owed!!

Everything went fine with our wedding and honeymoon. We got the preview album of photos from the photographer - the photos were lovely - we collected our orders and gave him a cheque.

He then embezzled the money and went to Australia!!

Sandra,
I'm glad you managed to find another one, probably better than the first one. I agree with Dada - one disaster per wedding. Ours was the honeymoon - cancelled by the holiday company. Fully refunded but by then my fiancé had got so much into debt I had to give it to him to bail him out. It was one of my dream holidays too. Beachbabe will understand...it was to Achensee. I've still not been.

Mind you, we could tie the knot as of December 20th... Still a chance for that honeymoon...

And I repeat once again that we demand to see photos of your happy day.

Our wedding day disaster was the drugs raid  (I kid you not!)
Apparently somebody who was in the public bar had been smoking something in the toilets and the Police came and questioned our guests! The thought of all our wrinkly rellies smoking hash in the toilet made my day :D

Sandra - so sorry to hear about your dress. Hopefully you'll get your money back. But at least you found out when you still had time to do something about it. I know of a few people who paid their deposits for the same photographer as us and only discovered he'd done a runner a couple of days before their weddings when it was too late to get another professional photographer. All we lost really was getting the photos in a fancy album (and I quite enjoyed doing that myself)

BellyBabe - hold out for that trip to the Achensee. I know a few people who've been and it's meant to be amazing but the Dripping Rock isn't there anymore lol

PoP, Porty and the rest of the gang from work will be hitting Leith for a company night out this Friday. Kings Wark and then one or two other pubs nearby. Usually an absolute hoot and great for research we can pass on to Punch Taverns so they can tailor their pubs to exactly match our needs!

I second (well, third) that, Sandra and Bearcub. Wishing you every happiness, and a very joyful day. :love3:
:occasion2: :occasion7: :occasion5:

On another note, off out to Sizzlers tonight - we've booked the entire place from 9pm (my apologies to isap...isa....er...the person upstairs). Not planning on drinking though as other half has abandoned me for the weekend to work away, and the thought of coping with the bairns with a hangover is not a pleasant one. Especially as smallest was up most of the night last night and may well decide to repeat the fun tonight :-({|= ...

BB

PS Think I've got it right now - isapdcm - sorry about that but I couldn't remember all your letters!
