Porty
the magnoliettes have a special thing that involves threading beads and stuff.
I will hunt out one of the gold threads just for you.
BTW I had my trusty bicycle overhauled recently (how sad is that, that (a) I can afford to pay to get that done at the same time as (b) I don't have any time to do it myself?) and one day I shall throw my christmas bulk over the bar and wobble off on it in an attempt to become the man I once was...

Excellent Mr M I really appreciate it. Do you think the Magnolettes could fix up a civic reception too?

Following on from my chakra excavation experience I managed to acquire one of those pedometer thingys - totally hooked now!!
Today, in four hours I managed 3194 steps which was marginally over a mile and burnt 192 calories and that was just walking round the school
Tomorrow I am in direct competition so I'll have to wear it all day which should be very interesting. Might spur me into trying hard to make 10,000 steps a day which is the recommended dose for good health apparently.
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

6,000 steps per day considered to be a good contribution to health but 10,000 per day is excellent.

Yeah. But at least it makes a change from your "Who's turn is it for the doughnut run"!

Does the run cancel out the doughnut in terms of calories

Oh, it must do - I walked the equivalent of a whole Twix today

(6736 steps between 8am and 4pm today)

Judging by the size and fillings of some of the doughnuts, only if the run is to the Bakers in Easter Road.

Just back from the gym at the Porty pool for the third time this week. Had been a bit slack at going over the holidays although did do a fair bit of swimming instead. It was nice and quiet this morning which always helps me stay for the full programme

January has come and gone and for once I actually delivered a New Year resolution. Managed the gym 5 times per week throughout the month to cycle for a total of 13 hours. I also met my commitment on alcohol (or lack of). Do I win a gold medal like Porty?

Porty I am still dilligently doing my exercises, currently going at least twice a week sometimes managing 3 times but finding it difficult to diet/stop drinking.
Been watching Gillian McKeith on telly - she has some great successes with her clients - though the nation seeing me in a swimsuit and getting a colonic fills me with horror.

I have lapsed my exercise routine - not been for 2 whole weeks - work has been crazy and the thought of going after work at the back of 6 o'clock is not appealing.
Porty are you still spinning? POP are you still off the booze? and ECM are you still doing your disco diva at Kings Manor?
I must get back to it though.

Lapsed a bit recently myself, Sandra. School hols last week made it tricky too but I'm booked in for a couple of sessions for next week and will try to get back on track. It's hard to go up the road after work when it's sooo cold and miserable, isn't it?

Lapsed here too. Came into work yesterday with kit and remembered 5 minutes after the class had started.

Played a bit tennis tho.

Been to spinning twice this week after a month break, tough.
Made a complaint to Living Well about the instructors and the equipment. Firstly, the class on Wednesday was cut short as the music system in a different studio had broken down so they needed our one. Approx 6000 members pay £57 a month for the privelege of being members. HAVE A SPARE ONE. It still wasn't fixed today.
Secondly, both instructors started the class with statements like " I have to be honest, the music today is completely random, Im going to put on anything I can find" Excuse me mates, I pay a lot of money to come to classes here. You wouldn't mind having the grace to prepare would you? No, i guess not.

You could just pay me £57 a month and I could chase you round and round Brighton Park with a pointy stick and you could have any music you wanted.
I could also make up a commentary to make it more exciting.
"Into the final lap, and it's Coe just holding on from Ovett. A hundred metres to go, Coe and Ovett - but wait, bursting in from nowhere it's, no it can't be, yes...it's Porty for Scotland. At the line it's Porty! Porty takes gold!"
And you could tell everyone you had a personal trainer. Think it over.

Bob, that commentary is scarely like the insructors "Gold Medal" commentary. (We won again today BTW)As for the PT offer? I don't really think it would ideal for either of us. Think of the neighbours!!
As for the music. The class I was in today the guy chose 3 random tracks of "Rocky" soundtrack. I mean the guy is actually going public with the fact he own it.

Is this offer exclusive to Porty? Would you consider a group discount?
