Fabulous shots wangi, although the reflections image will forever be indebted to Richard. I would like to see some treatments of the first picture as it has a nice abstract quality.

I think we have a good enough library of Porty photos to put together some downloadable wallpapers and screensavers. Can you give this some thought?

Plenty of room for four. I just re-booked for next October and bagged the best view of Kielder Water and a 15% discount.

Marya (or anyone else who is interested), if you weren't put off too much by the rain, we paid £215 (inc repeat customer discount) for Mon 17 - Fri 21 in a Hareshaw Premier. The remaining cabins with a lake view are 29, 30 and 31. Phone 01434 250 294 and ask for Shirley.

Yes, I saw the moon over the water last night, too. Lovely photos Hell's Cat. Thanks for sharing them. I was also told that it was going to be the last lunar eclipse until 2007 - I don't know if anyone saw it .... at four in the morning? (I didn't!)

It was a beautiful sky this morning - spectacular cloudscapes. Did anyone get any photos?

PS Nutty Geordies paddle in winter too!

It is a reall nice moon shot! That "last lunar eclipse" was over North America I think - couldn't be seen here.

I saw those clouds this morning through the window, but by the time I was leaving the house they'd all moved along...

Ah - I was told it was visible here - not that it makes much difference, as I was not up at four in the morning.

Oh that's a shame. There was a beauty of a shot along the High Street from the Brighton Place/Bath Street junction, with the church steeple against the red clouds and blue sky - as always, I was on the bus!

A sad photo-of-the-day today:

Image

"This shot is taken from a foot path which runs alongside the Brunstane Burn, on the other side of the burn is Portobello Cemetery. A few months back I watched an Asian family gathered for a funeral, from the path. Today as I was cycling past I noticed a couple at the same (I'm pretty certain) grave. I think it's a child's grave."

A real sad photo of today, its bad enough when an adult dies but really bad when a child dies.

Though I love the use of colour in a b&w pic.

Bearcub and I are getting married next year and the photographer we have chosen uses a lot of b&w and b&w with colour.

Our first waltz was the theme tune from Twin Peaks. Despite the fact that I had issued the DJ with a detailed track list he turned up with the idea of playing his usual K-Tel wedding selection. His collection didn't include 'our song' so I had to abandon my new wife and race back to our flat to retrieve my own copy of the record. Oh and Jenners managed to fuck up the wedding cake. But apart from that it was fine!

When is it happening? Are you all organised? We had a small wedding - no problems with the photographer - or anything really! It was a great day :D . Hope you have the same!
