I think that when its suits you what Ali says is true, so that makes two of us and we have not conspired. You consistently take a side, even if its not one that you support and set about side-tracking the debate into a semantic thrash. The funny thing is, you seem to think that you are in some way fostering better debate, in reality you ruin many. And think its ok to say "thanks for you feeback" or something of that ilk.Dadaist wrote:
For you to say I don't like people asking questions is a deliberate lie on your part.
Moderation of 'New Schools' thread
Context is everything, PoP. I love questions - asking them and being asked, watching them being asked and answered or ducked. To say I don't is a malicious falsehood. That doesn't mean that bullying tactics are right, though.Pal of Porty wrote:Well said Ali. In the same way that asking questions about "substantiation/data integrity/justification etc" appears to frustrate Dadaist, I find myself equally frustrated when figures such as the '97%' are plucked out the air and used as some sort of justification for a specific point of view.ali wrote:....I would quite like to question the integrity of that statement but it will probably mean sustaining a broadside from Dada who doesn't like people asking questions on a public forum....?
I must say that I never considered that forcing the mods to do their job and stop bullying would result in the people who support the current trend for Torquemada-Paxman questioning turning their guns on me as an enemy of ... wait for it ... questions themselves.
Wowsers.
What are you going to accuse me of next - disliking question marks and punctuation?
Mirth!
What side have I taken that I don't support?Porty wrote:I think that when its suits you what Ali says is true, so that makes two of us and we have not conspired. What debates are you accusing me of ruining?
I love questions, answers and language. Not too big on bullying though.
I'm not playing, which screws you up cos you cant ask again. So there's another debate ruined. I am in no way an advocate of bullying whether in the pub, the playground or on line - but if I wished to challenge, say Gemini and her '97%', I just cannot see how I am bullying her in any shape or form - even if I had to ask her several times.Dadaist wrote:Context is everything, PoP. Justice delayed is justice denied.
PoP, I have never viewed you as a bully. But we now have a ruling (or at least a precedent) of someone who was repeatedly asking the same question being told to "give it a rest".Pal of Porty wrote:I am in no way an advocate of bullying whether in the pub, the playground or on line - but if I wished to challenge, say Gemini and her '97%', I just cannot see how I am bullying her in any shape or form - even if I had to ask her several times.Dadaist wrote:Context is everything, PoP. Obviously there's a knee-jerk reaction about debate-spoiling and question-hating, but this is just predictable grist for the mill and delicious sauce for the goose. Quack.
This is the second lot of posts in two days that I had to move in order to keep some semblance of thread discipline. I'm getting fed up of this too.Porty wrote:Mods can we clear the posts about repeated questioning etc out of this thread and put them in the mods thread. I'm getting fed up repeating this request.

I'm getting fed up with it three, and take full responsibility for my part in the lack of discipline.Marya wrote:This is the second lot of posts in two days that I had to move in order to keep some semblance of thread discipline.
