Just to let you know some fantastic news from the Junior Section at Portobello Indoor Bowling Club. We travelled up to Inverurie at the weekend for the finals of the Scottish Indoor U17 Pairs and triples and came away with winning the Pairs, and runners up in the Triples!
The pair of Lewis Betts (aged 10) and Liam McKay (16) were up against some of the best young bowlers in Scotland but won their group with 3 wins aout of 3, and went on to beat Prestwick in the final. Lewis must be close to being the youngest ever winner of an u17 trophy, if not the youngest.
The triple of Chloe Thomson, Ross Thomson and Dean Mackintosh, won 2 and drew 1 in their section and came up against a strong Abbeyview triple in the final and lost the game, but still a fantastic achievement to get there.
All the coaches are very proud of their efforts and the way they conducted themselves. A credit to Porty!
