Moonwalk

Post by SoupDragon » 15 Jun 2008, 04:41

They're going along the Prom as I type.
So many bras!
So many shades of pink!
Even the sunrise has turned the clouds pink for them.
Well done to all taking part

Anyone know the Moonwalk route tonight? I know mile 20 is on the Prom, but not how far long the Prom is included - some years it's been all, other years they shortcut it...

EDIT: For some reason or other the official website is like a chocolate teapot: "Unfortunately at the request of the Police and Council, we are unable to publicise where the route will be on this website". If this site is correct (and the mile markers on the Prom tend to agree) then it looks like it's coming down London Rd, Kings Rd, Prom, Musselburgh Rd and up Milton Rd... So maybe the bulk of folk around 6am??

4 of the girls I work with did the walk for the 3rd year running.
We live on Portobello High Street so they stop at us for a quick loo visit and pick up a hot bacon roll and cuppa.
They are getting good , here just after 5am this morning. In 4 minutes , grabbed food , drink , a sweetie and Ribena and on their way.
The cats just sat as though it is usual to have 4 ladies ( very cold ladies  ) in bras standing marching on the spot that early on a Sunday morning.
Not sure when they finished , reckon they took an hour of last year.
Well done Fern ; Deirdre ; Mary and Gillian xxx :D
whatever, am i bovvered

Was up at 5am to let a friend in from had come all the way from Inversnooze to do the Moonwalk - a toilet stop, quick rest on the sofa, some fresh fruit salad and a bit of chocolate cake seemed to perk her up. Walked a mile with her for a blether then came back to bed.

Don't know how they do it - its a much faster pace than I expected and that was at the 20 mile mark. A bunch of very determined ladies, my hat goes off to them. Well done all, you should be v.v. proud of yourselves.

Had a bra hanging in the window facing the Prom again.
The route seems to be kept very secret, Clanger 1 was being a steward and didn't know where she'd be stationed or the route when she left last night.
All she knew was to report to inverleith Park.
They seemed to go along the Prom toward Joppa, not sure where they were turning back towards Inverleith.
At least it was sunny and not too windy for them

Looked at that link Wangi posted, seems to take them all along the Prom to Joppa, last year they came up the wee lane next to us to get to the High St, wonder what other changes were made on the route
Well done to them all

I'm almost 100% certain they didn't come along the full length of the Prom...

They were coming off the Prom - but I'm not sure from which direction - and up Pittville Street and then, I think, along the High Street towards Seafield.

when out with the dog this morning we saw the last two ladies taking part at 9.30am just outside the beach house. One looked like she had very sore feet. :(
