Can anyone recommend a good nursery in Portobello?

Post by moleyboleyus » 10 Oct 2009, 22:05

Hi There!
We've just moved here and I wondered if anyone could give me any recommendations or information about nurseries in Portobello? I saw an old post (from 2007) and everyone seemed to have lots of nice things to say about Brighton Nursery? It would be brilliant to hear from anyone with more recent experience of this or any of the others (there are so many here!) more recently?
Thanks loads in advance!
:)

Although it's a few years since our daughter attended Brighton Nursery, we still pop back to visit occasionally and I continue to be impressed by what they offer. They may have scaled up but Jenny still knows the name of every child in the nursery and still has time for the kids who enjoyed their time there in the past. Can't recommend highly enough.

It is funny you should say that as we have just been round all the Porty nurseries as my wife is expecting our first child soon.

The only advice I can give you is to go to each one in the area and have alook for yourself as when you look at them online they all look the same and the goverment reports on them are all pretty similar. It is only once you go to visit that you can get a feel for a place and if it is right for you.

All of the nurseries that we contacted were able to see us that day for a look around and very were helpful.

Brighton Nursery is fab - we heard good stories about others, but the positive views on Brighton were verging on the fanatical... and they weren't wrong (in my opinion). Recommend you go visit. Our first child has just finished after 5 years there - just superb....

Both my kids went to Brighton, one when it was in West Brighton Crescent, the other when it moved to the High St.My wife also worked there on and off since she left school.I've got nothing but positive things to say about they way they help develop kids.
