Ted Brack's book

Post by SoupDragon » 10 Jun 2009, 19:23

The former headmaster of St Johns and local resident has brought out a book called "there is a bonny fitba team ".

it was mentioned in the Portobello Reporter.
So has anyone bought it read it?

I thought it would make an ideal Father's Day gift

I think my dad will like the book.
He took me to my first footie match New Years Day 1973.
Can you mind me of the score again PoP?

I love Ted but I ain't buying the book. I assume it mentions Hibs winning the Scottish Cup, as it is in the Fiction section at Borders.

Would you read it Porty?I think your a jambo ( cross to bear etc) but given it's written by someone you know, would you read it if someone gave you a copy?

I grew up a few doors along from the bracks and was good mates with Paddy & Dom, we had a wee fall out later in life but I'm looking forward to getting it on Sunday.A combination of being a hibby (cross to bear etc) knowing him pretty much all my life & being the ex-head of our families school makes it rather exciting to find out if the book is any good.

Franck of course I would read it!! I'd probably buy it if I didn't have to go too far out my way! I'd want a signed copy tho.

I was dipping into the book over the weekend
Seems to be a fairly accurate history, he doesnt gloss over relagation and so on.
Some personal recollections in there as well.

Dad was admitted to hospital this afternoon so I gave him the book as I drove him there.
He seems quite chuffed ( with the book not the breathlessness thats taking him into the ERI )
I'll let you know his verdict on the book, he's a true Hibs fan, used to put the telly up at one end if watching the match at home
