From the Daily Record:
Conservative justice spokesman Bill Aitken MSP said: "The public are becoming increasingly concerned about the way in which confidential information is being lost by public services.
"I find it incredible that a sensitive piece of equipment containing confidential information can disappear in police headquarters of all places.
"Frankly this is no longer acceptable and there has to be a much greater degree of care taken."

Im not sure how he can find it incredible. I would call it a trend for public services to loose confidential data held on memory sticks, cd roms etc;

Tell you what though, im more careful with stuff that I need to put on memory stick or cd now. I would hate to the person from the Council on the front of the evening news for leaving a usb stick containing details of thousands of council tenants on the number 21 bus.
