the mac thread
As a mac newbie I am still a little disoriented. After a decade or so of Microserfdom, I'm finding it a little difficult to adjust. I'm hoping that some of you macusers out there can help me.
Here is my first question:
How do I obtain the URL of an image on a website? With Windows I just right-click the image and click on properties. I'm sure there must be a similar easy way to do this with a mac but the only method I have so far is to view the code for the entire page and then locate the particular image I require, which is a pain as you can imagine. Solution anyone?

If you want to do a bit of investment, there is an excellent book by David Pogue called Mac OSX - The Missing Manual which has the answers to most of those questions which arise when you change from one system to another, including a "Windows to Mac Dictionary" which covers the points you've just raised. - I got my copy from Waterstones (£20).
By the way, if you've got a mouse with left and right buttons, then you should be able to right click, just as you did on your PC. (Control-click works with those infuriating mice who don't have all their faculties.)

I have nothing to say and I'm going to say it.

S'OK Bob I know you don't do the birthday 'thing'
Appreciate all the trawling!
I was thinking of giving up birthdays myself, until I opened my present (bought, I suspect, by a very guilt ridden Homer , who had left it until the morning of my birthday, when we were embroiled in packing for a week's holiday, to go shopping. But I certainly ain't complaining!). Now, I've just got to get myself acquainted with Leopard and ilife '08. Our old iMac has still some of my affections, but my new baby has more than twice the processing power with about 4 times the memory capacity.
And thank you too Pops, for your birthday wishes. To answer your question - after 19 years of marriage, I reckon the laptop has more of a mysterious allure about it
