PS The QE2 is now in the North Sea, having just come through the Pentland Firth.

That was disappointing last night as the QE2 was so late leaving. Anyway, can anyone remember what huge ship was here about 4 or 5 years ago that had people agog on the Prom waiting to see it/her leave the Forth??? Several folk recall the event but none of us can remember the details!

I can remember the World being in Leith several years ago, I think that might be what you are thinking of.

I remember going down the front a few years ago to view the Queen Mary 2. Some of those who had gathered to see the ship left after the Rosyth ferry went by, mistaking it for the QM2.
