Portobello Village Show 2008 Sunday 21st September

Part of Car Free Day with PEDAL Events on Portobello High Street from 1pm

Village Show events in Rosefield Park from 3pm.

What could you bring?

We need you to bring along your creative efforts to entertain the Porty public. We’re looking for the biggest disasters, as well as Olympic standard entries so don’t be afraid to bring something along just for the fun of taking part.

Prizes Galore: Medals or rosettes/certificates for all entries.
Best in Show for Outstanding entries.
Bring All Entries on the day from 1-3pm. Judging from 3.15pm

Fruit and Veg: All welcome, prizes include 'Biggest’, ‘Puniest’ and ‘Most Beautiful’ home grown fruit or veg.
Handicrafts: All types (crochet, quilting, knitting etc.) Prizes include 'Most Unusual’, ‘Finest' etc.
Home Baking and Preserves. - Bring any cakes, jams, bread, homebrew etc.
Junk Model: Children's competition, bring any model - made of junk.
Best Dressed Potato: Bring a decorated potato along - the weirder the better.
Fruit and Veg Model: create a monster or a something beautiful from fruit and/or veg.
Flower Arrangement: any beautiful display of flowers will do.
Dog Parade: Dog owners please bring along your best behaved pets so that we can see who is the ‘Handsomest’, ‘Sweetest Smelling’ and ,Most Talented, Pooch in Porty.

There’ll also be: Tea Tent; Tug of War, Welly Throwing, Music and lots, lots more.

Ahh, I did notice a large painted sign tied up to railings along the High Street, something about a fun day or something, presume its for this village show.

yes. It has to be more recently arrived idiots or people who were ok beforethey moved here and have progressed to idiocy. Portobello was never a village when it was only us living here.

No Hummer - it wouldn't have been able to make it along WBC, which was chock a block with traffic!

Reckon POD can claim a huge success. The weather was lovely and folk turned out in their droves. I suggest they start planning next year's show now!
