About 1980 McColls site was a chinese takeaway
Then remember it as frozen foods, Capital, then ? Farm Foods then extended to make McColls as it is now ( mind there used to be a wee bit at the back where they parked the police cars )

Portobelly Telly is back in business again with some shiny new toys to play with.

Happily, I now have the number-crunching capacity to start editing film again and I'm now able to resurrect some long-neglected projects.

My top priority is to do justice to Tony King's archive footage of Portobello's Victorian Weekends in the 1980s. Thanks to Archie Foley the original medium has been cleaned up and I'm starting from scratch again with new edits. Commentary is yet to be added but I couldn't resist posting the first of the new sequences (1981) so that you can see for yourself the difference in quality.

And while you are watching, try to work out which businesses currently occupy the shops that are featured.
