Hi everyone
Sorry, I hope this isn't in the wrong place on the forum...
I live in Portobello High Street and recently a cat has started coming in my kitchen window. She (I know nothing of cats, but she appears to be female) doesn't have a collar and seems hungry and to want to stay when she gets in so I think she is stray or lost.
She is black all over, quite small and has green and blue eyes. She's very affectionate and wants lots of cuddles, so seems very domesticated.
I am allergic to cats so can't let her stay, but I feel bad putting her out in the cold. I called the Cat and Dog home but there was no answer, so I left a message. If you know what to do, or think this sounds like your cat, or a cat belonging to a neighbour, please email me at kelmiguel@hotmail.com
Thanks guys.
Have you lost a cat? Or: what to do with a lost/stray cat?

Hi sconegrrl
Lots of cats like to visit and will cadge a meal when they can!
Not all cats will wear a collar, they sometimes get their paws stuck in them. My cat used to go in and sit on a neighbours knee, get fed there, then come home looking for more food. He was a skinny thing too.
You say the one visiting you is affectionate so she's used to people.
Unless she looks really neglected ie runny eyes, scabby, ill kempt I'd think it sounds like she has an owner.
She may be microchipped but the only way to find out is to get her scanned at the vet.
I'd ask around the neighbour hood to see if anyone recognises the cat just to put your mind at rest.
