X box red ring

Post by SoupDragon » 24 Sep 2007, 11:06

Anyone had this problem?

Eldest sons X box is freezing and showing the "red ring" which seems to indicate a hardware failure
I was wondering how easily its fixed and if microsoft were any good at dealing with it.

Seems it is a hardware problem and Microsoft have extended their warranty to 3 years.
This box is less than a year old as it was a Christmas present.

Anyway I've just got off the phone to the support services and they're going to send a label and courier to pick box up and repair it
Should take about 20 days.

I'm away to look out "pong" as he'll get withdrawal symptoms with out some console to play

UPS picked up Xbox this afternoon
seems efficient so far
so if anybody else has a Xbox 360 that keeps freezing or shows the dreaded red ring

they seem to have support in place
and remember they've extended the warrenty to 3 years

UPS delivered the Xbox today.
He's away to plug it all in again
They've given him an extra months gold membership.

It's working!

He says it's quieter than before

He's not, talking away to his pal in Tollcross via the machine, belting monsters. killing aliens
