What's the betting Jamsie has one helluva hangover today?Jamesie wrote: I'm away to France tomorrow morning and can't guarantee being back (or in a fit enough state to play) for Sunday morning
Wasn't last night something else? We spent the night flicking channel between the Engerland game and the Scotland match. Missed the 3rd English goal but even OH was more delighted by the Scotland goal.

Hope there's enough numbers though.

In the event only gilo and me turned up to represent talkporty, along with Gedge and 3 of his mates. We hung about for a while in torrential rain and had just decided to abandon the game when we spotted another very disgruntled-looking bunch of players. Their Sunday League opposition hadn't turned up so we rashly challenged them to a match.
They have an average age of at least 20 years younger than us, they are fully kitted, shin-pads the lot and have been playing together for several years.
We are mostly the wrong side of 40 and met 5 minutes earlier in the car-park.
So, ok they thrashed us but it was great fun nonetheless.

Bad luck with the football, Bob.
Anyway, here's the Tartan Army in Paris.
A French pal sent me this link - from a France “Ultras” website. There's some classic photos and videos.

Two-thirds of the way down page one, you can see a picture of the troops assembling for the four-mile march to the Parc des Princes. If you look to the right, there's a guy with a bare torso and a broken leg, clutching a beercan, being pushed in a shopping trolley. “There's dedication for you,” as the old Knorr advert said (I think).
Also , the messages on the forum are a revelation. Admiration for our support, and no bitterness on the part of the French - just a fervent hope that Scotland - and France, not Italy - will qualify.

A bit poor form that only 2 people turned up.... i would have not been too chuffed if i was one of the poor souls in the rain!
Glad you managed to get a game of it - even if wasn't the most competitive! If another game is organised i will likely be well up for it - not often i'm out of the country.....
And that commentry of McFadden's goal is superb!!
