Glad the open day was a success, hope it's saved the home from closing, it's been there for a long time and it would be such a shame if it had to close. Would've loved to have been there but couldn't. Mr. Arachnid was up at the crack of dawn to take some of his budgies up to Keith for a budgie show!!

Stray no 666 - was that you that we were talking to about Staffies and the huge number of Staffy crosses? Me and mini Pb were looking around. Felt sorry for a nice old black dog at the end of one of the runs who was a bit of a barrel and grey round the muzzle. She look at us with her best take me home, your sofa needs me eyes. Brought a lump to my throat.

Funny that, I thought about spladooshing you and then I thought this girl is going to think I am nuts. I thought I had seen you before, prob around Porty.
Yes it was Edith - was she an old persons dog? How come she ended up with you? How old is she?

Edith was such a sweetie. I hope she finds a good home before long. Surely there's somebody out there who could love her? If my house wasn't still a building site and mini Pb was a few years older maybe she would have liked us.....

Although I vowed i'd only get a puppy if we got another dog she did have something about her. My last experience of an older dog was a JRT I got through RSPCA. She had been awfully badly treated and never been out for a walk. She was nuts-whole-hazelnuts to the extent that you would take her out for a lovely long walk and she'd come home and have a poo in a cupboard. She never knew that's what 'outside' was for.

Nope, Jook as she was known was always naughty. She was the boss of the house. I have fond memories of wrestling a cooked chicken out of her mouth after i had taken it out the oven and left it to cool on the worktop. There was no way she could climb up there- she must have jumped. What a girl, she had a good dinner that Sunday the rest of us had what was left!
