Is it just me or has the forum been awfully quiet this week?

I think they are all just lurking out there - come on lurkers, let your fingers do the posting. Some more topics needed maybe? Anyone got any interesting ones?

I think the regulars have gone quiet to give the hundreds of shy lurkers a chance to post!

** Yawn **
Heaven forbid it's actually summer and people have pulled their poor wee Scottish peely-wally faces away from the monitor and went outside!

Actually got a bit sunburnt!

Only catch up with talk porty before I go out for the day, and after I come in at night - this weather is too good to miss - especially being off work!

It might be quiet on here but we had a fire engine come down the street yesterday all sirens blaring and then again tonight - some silly billy had set a bin on fire. Its always the ones on Straiton Place.

Now, be clear, PB ....do all silly billies live in Straiton Place (or is everyone in Straiton Place a silly billy

) or are you referring to the location of the bins??

Ah, that explains it - we heard loads of sirens last night very close by! Glad it wasn't any more serious.

I'm a bum freak!! In the early 70s I and my pals were concerned with "content, presentation and star quality." The very best we ever saw was playing pool in Plockton....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Still think its awfully quiet and pretty dull of late. Wonder if they'll all come back, isn't it time for a cease fire?

So what happened? Did ya all have a fight? Don't ya all live in the same neighborhood and care and love each other?

This is what is bound to happen when a minority have public squabbles. The majority feel they are outsiders, don't particularly want to be involved in other people's arguments and turn their attention elsewhere.

Yes, I too miss the banter and nonsense that used to go on.

I haven't had so much time recently to post and when I do there's not really much interesting to comment on.

Well to keep everyone happy how about a thread about football playing, alcohol consuming frogs?
We could throw in a few arguments about who sponsored their shirts, their campaign to save their playing field and complain every now and again about foul play.

It could also be that the relative silence and comparative boredom on here is because most of that minority were the ones who actually kept the place alive.
Statistically, in the two months before the deletion of the counting thread there were 2379 postings in Portobello Matters and G&TT. There have been 1094 since (not counting the ones Wangi deleted) 227 of that 1094 are in locked threads because they relate to the dispute and so should not be counted as 'normal' postings. That brings the total down to 867. Roughly, that means that for the two months after the deletion we should expect there to have been 1100 postings -- less than half of where we were.
Noses and faces come to mind.
I have nothing to say and I'm going to say it.

I don't think continued discussion forever is in any way productive here. I've certainly got better things to do, and I'm sure you all do too. I've said everything I'm going to on this matter, short of posting updated guidelines (when I get a chance to even think about them).
So, lets move on please.
(and yeah - locking this thread too)
