Can anyone recommend a good upholsterer?

Post by Maria » 20 Aug 2007, 09:33

My living room sofas are looking rather the worse for wear these days, especially since my cat seems to regard them as scratching posts. However, I'm fond of them and as they are of a good solid construction I'd prefer to get them re-upholstered rather than replace them. I haven't a clue where to start. Any recommendations?

I know Porty has used George Divine who is a good lad although he supports Celtic. He is local and his company is called Devine Upholstery. I do not have his number but you can check it out with Porty when you see him. 8)

Yes, I'd noticed but didn't like to mention it.

Have you tried the rather wonderful and very useful Portobello Online business directory? I believe in house design offer this service. Not sure about Liz Henderson but you could ask.

That was nice of you. I'll remember to show the same consideration the next time I see you the worse for wear

In-house design look as if they're after a different sort of business. I don't really want my whole room re-designed, just a new set of covers and my feathers fluffed up.

I got a quote from inhouse design for one chair and it was reasonable. They send the items away to their upholsterer.

We got some work done at a very reasonable price by Assured Upholstery in Musselburgh. Phone No 0131 665 6991.
