For a long time I used to read every post. As the only moderator I didn't have much choice, plus the board wasn't as busy so it wasn't so difficult to keep up. Nowadays I'm a bit more selective and only read threads that I think will be of interest.

As a consequence I sometimes discover old posts that I hadn't previously read. Recently, I was looking for a plumber and not having much luck. I could regale you with the whole story of how the sink came to be broken but I can't be bothered right now. A quick search on the forum offered several recommendations, a couple of which I have followed up. In doing so I found a post regarding a particular plumber who had apparently offered me a quote for a job that I hadn't accepted although I didn't work out who it was. I wonder what else I have missed?

We have quite an archive now of old posts. How long do you spend looking through it or searching on a particular subject? I guess that this has particular relevance for newer members.

Bob, I find it very difficult to search for a specific post, I was looking for "black pudding thread" a couple of weekends ago seems it was easy to find putting in "food" in the search box!!!
