I took a mattress to the dump, only to be told I couldn't dispose of it because I'm in a works van. Saying it wasn't commercial waste & they could see that, didn't matter. Had I been in a hired van, that would have been ok.
So I had to drive out, past the skips & the helpers. How mad is that
It's now lying in the garden, which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place

Anyone want a soggy old mattress, let me know.

Crazy, they could have turned a blind eye to the van.
Couldn't you have taken the van out the yard and then kind of coaxed the mattress through the gates and asked for help?
I know that sounds crazy but you wouldn't have been in a works van, just a poor pedestrain trying to get rid of an old matress, right!!

Does seem daft.
I know they dont want a commercial business making money off the back of the service but surely that encourages fly tipping?
I've got a volvo estate if you're stuck, Tribabe, it's getting MOT 2moro ( i hope ) so will be off the road then.

This is a problem we have all the time Tribade. We only have the 'work's car' which is marked and we're not allowed in the dump with it. Very annoying since we only live five minutes from the place

. Since it's the only car we've got it makes it even worse. We're also not allowed to drive through the Queen's Park in said same car in case we offend anybody in Holyrood Palace by driving past with ADT on the side of the car

Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Thanks for the offer SD, very kind of you, I've organised a council uplift, if that doesn't happen, I'll get back to you.
What's ADT?

Soup, did you offer the guys the mattress, a chance to sleep on it and perhaps a change of heart in the morning?

They are very good in my experience - my dad's house is alarmed (as it were!) by them and is serviced by a charming and handsome engineer!!

Called Mr. Epykat
His personal alarm is with them too and they have been VG when he's had cause to use it.

We've had an A.D.T. alarm for quite a few years now and have no complaints with them. Our service engineer is also very good ( don't think it'll be Mr. Epykat though!! Bit far for him to come to!!)
It's also alarmed for the other emergency services. Hopefully won't need them, but handy to have!

He does get about a bit and meets some very strange wimmin

. Yesterday he was in the steam room at Living Well - completely clothed

. He certainly looked a bit slimmer by the time he came in for his tea. Last week he was offered a phallic shaped gummy sweetie by a woman in a chippy
