Google Earth has finally mapped all of Porty!

I can see where I live... from space!!!

This amazing piece of software never ceases to make my jawdrop!

(Apologies if Porty has been mapped for ages and everone knew this already! Last time I looked, Gorgie was as far as they had got)

I think Porty has been on for a couple of weeks. I've been having great fun nosing around my neighbours gardens

Or even just use the web site if you don't fancy installing more pish on your computer:

And I hate to recommend anything to do with Microsoft, but Local Live is better quality aerial images:

And if you do want to install some software on your computer then I can recommend NASA's World Wind - like GoogleEarth but using free image sources:

Google earth has grass in my Mum's back garden...

Yup, IV, MS has the (empty) paddling pool site before the new garden - Google has the new garden 'in progress'.

I've been "googling earth" for quite a lot of months and think it's great!!!

Found my old house in Coillesdene and the back garden is all grass and bushes now!! When I lived there, it had different flower borders and a big vegetable patch!!!

This is better (and newer) than the ones I've been looking at - I'm working at finding the roof shots of friends' homes all over the country

It's a pity my garden is in shade or I could check what the cats were up to that day

You can go anywhere in the world with Google Earth.
Can even go inside the volcano of Mount St. Helens or journey to the Grand Canyon!!!

Wonder if I should wave at the sky next time I go out the door.

I notice google earth must have been taken a while back as there's still leaves on the trees.

Having all this technology, couldn't it be put to a better use? Like getting the people that don't clean up after their dogs. A wee electrical discharge from the clouds would sort that out PDQ

...the satellite photie was definitely taken a year past summer...I can tell from my garden as my new decking was not yet in situ and my (now missing) tortoise run was
