......when you take down your cards and decorations and the house looks really forlorn.

.......when you join a really big queue at the 'Coinstar' at Asda and then have to leave with all those jars of change because both machines are already full.

Wouldn't you be better taking your coins to the bank, they dont take a percentage for changing them into notes...........

If I had my way they would go up on Xmas Eve and come down again on Boxing Day. I love putting the decorations away. Suddenly, our house looks tidier and more spacious. A fresh start for a new year.

You can get people to come over and tidy up for you. They are in the Yelllow Pages under "House Clearance".

My house has never looked so spacious and tidy.

the vacuum is no longer clogged with glitter and tinsel

there's only a solitary toffee left in the Quality Street tin

you've had t iron a pile of shirts/blouses as the schools are back next week

unwanted, browning trees clutter the streets

you go to Tesco to get cheap paper for next Christmas and find the season aisle now filled with Easter eggs

The bank won't accept coins unless they are all counted and bagged (with the 1ps in their own bags, the 2ps another and so on). I think I'd have lost the will to live even half way through counting the amount of coppers we had amassed over the last two years.

That's about July then in this house. The kids'll be dead chuffed when i tell them christmas isn't over till the summer holidays...

In fact I think we still have some in Xmas 05's tin.

You know Christmas is over when you spend hours carefully packing away all the decorations, dismantling the tree, recycling the cards, hoovering up the glitter, lugging the whole lot upstairs in the loft, tidily putting it away, sitting down with a cup of tea, giving a sigh of relief that it's all over for another year - then two days later come in the back door and notice you've left the wreath still hanging there, then find the snowman oven gloves still hanging on the oven door and the reindeer dressed up as santa hanging from the back window

What restraint you have, my lot look like hamsters filling their pouches when the tin is first opened. Except Mr Soupy who doesn't like chocolate.

Found I'd missed a wee tree on top of the toilet cistern today, must blank out that it's there.
