I've got the Burd Flu - its an off-shoot/variation of the man flu - only much worse
............and I've just had to trawl round Scotmid for Lemsip and man-size tissues. It was like world war III in there.
I might not get through this. It's been nice knowing you all. Goodbye.

Aaaawwww! Much sympathy for your plight, Ali. There's nothing worse ... and you get little sympathy from partner/family!

Do you not get a flu jab??
Anyway ... go straight to your bed ... dope up on as many meds and Benylin as poss and try and sleep!
You WILL get through it! Take care. Hoipe you're better soon. In the meantme ... milk it for all it's worth!!

Does this mean you'll miss the RoS night out then? Or was that last night perhaps?

Thank you, Poppy. You've always been very kind to me *sigh*.
If you could just pop in to McColls on the way home and get me 10 Woodbine and the latest Computer Music mag (Oh ..........and the Racing Post).
Do they sell beer? Only if you can manage to carry it all. Don't put yourself out. Thank you.
Oh......and a Turkish Delight.

Listen, mate, if you are fit enough to read and type on POL (and no doubt (shock horror) elsewhere), you can do your own bleeding shopping.

*cluck* *cough*
Since lunch (soup) I have progressed from the streaming eyes and dripping nose stage to the hacking cough and wheezing stage so things are looking up.

Should I have another bowl do you think?
I've also received an offer of a couple of weeks work as Rudolph in the King's panto. So that's nice.

Yes thank you M but it was touch and go. You know how a candle flickers in a draught? Well, that was me - flickering and fluttering through the long night
- then I heard Joe Brown on Sounds of the 60's on Radio 2 at 8 o'clock and I knew that I had made it. He came from a large family, you know - lots of bruvvers.
I think I'm still a bit feverish.

Not unless you can provide a stretcher with built in oxygen tent, Sandra.
Thanks for asking anyway.
Do you think you and bearcub will manage to stay upright this year?

No.
Oh.
Its not the burd flu is it?
I think I caught it from ecm. She had a bit of a cold earlier in the week.
I only spoke to her on the phone and that was enough for me to catch it.

Yes, thank you, Poppy!! My chest has settled down to a nice, gentle, soft wheeze rather than the gurgling, rattling, rasping faulty-bellows kind of noise it was making last week......................and being back at work is helping to take my mind off things, so thats nice.
BTW - did you forget the Turkish Delight??
