New House Problems

Post by Cleopas » 13 Dec 2006, 20:24

Here's a helpful hint for you ...

Never buy your house in good weather ... wait until it's really foul ... like our most recent. Or ... hose down the windows for 10 minutes each. Then check inside to see how badly they leak. Otherwise, you'll end up like me with a kitchen floor that is a pool of water. I have to wait for the window specialist tomorrow ... though I phoned two days ago.

I am now in process of suing the solicitor who handled the purchase of my current abode. His conveyancing was a complete shambles.

It reminds me of a freind who bought his house a few years ago. When he moved in, he was putting the gas fire in place, when he realised there was no gas pipe. In fact there was no gas anywhere in the house ... not even a pipe from the mains in the street outside. He got it installed at a hefty price ... then successfully sued his solicitor for 10,000 quid.

Cross your fingers ... cos I'm going for the jugular.

Get that sage burning to banish negative energy, Cleopas.
Or get a preist, druid, minister or shaman of your choosing to bless the place
They say these things come in threes so you should be ok from now. Washing Machine flood, the faulty smoke detector now the windows. We used to have similar problems and old habits die hard. We still put old towels along the widows in bad weather.

Window specialist turned up and just went round "tightening" the window units. Must admit they do look tighter. Have to give it a couple of days to see how it goes in wet weather.

Pray for me brethren ... and cistern. :)

I'm all flushed now!

Over the years and through bitter experiance I've learned to keep some not so good towels for the beach, spillages, windows and hair dying- Clanger 1 has been through the spectrum and once accidently dyed herself back to her natural colour.

Yeah, well ... life's been a bit of a beeatch just lately! But I got my new computer corner chair tonight, so I've been a lil bit mollified.

With my birthday week coming up, I'm expecting people to be nicer to me and I'll be nice too!

Yes ... birthday WEEK! I celebrate for a week! Then it's the New Year Party rounds! Yay! Go me!!! :D
