Some people believe in the intervention of a divine being at the moment of conception, others in the reincarnation of the soul. Myself I think my parents were not as careful as they could be, so Yes is the answer.

5. Skinflats (Near Falkirk)

Post by Cleopas » 19 Nov 2006, 00:35

Both wrong.

#2 ... think that getting there was a stroke of fortune ... like the throw of a dice

#5 ... think of what beggars actually are and if they lived in a place larger than a village but smaller than a city.

If these are not answered by tomorrow afternoon, I'll reveal tha answers. Can't be any fairer.

aaargh. Ok fair enough. May get the answers in dreams.

Woke Mr Soupy in the middle of last night to tell him about Wyoming, it came to me in my sleep, though didn't fire up the comp to post it then
Mind you he's setting the alarm to get up at silly oclock ( 4ish ) to see if the Leonid meteors are visible. Ha we live in Scotland, he should take up cloud watching instead.

1 Chance ?

Cleopas

Post by Cleopas » 19 Nov 2006, 12:29

Okay .... that's the second time Soupy has said "Chance" ... and it IS part of the name. It's close enough for me, so I'm giving her the point and drawing this quiz to a close.

The actual place name is Come by Chance.

Final scores

Soupdragon ... 10
Kipling ........... 9
Bob ............... 6
Rapunzell ....... 3
Black Mamba .. 1
Teddygirl ........ 1

GAME OVER!!

If admin can please add these scores to the Totals board, I'd be grateful, thank you ... and congrats to all who took part and stuck with it. You deserve your points ... I promise the next one isn't as difficult (well, not to me they're not!) !!!

And that's my 700th post!!

Thank you, Cleopas, this was fun, you must have worked hard getting all these names looked out.

Didn't realise I'd said chance twice. Sorry

Cheers! It's just a wee gift I've always had since schooldays. I was good at geography and I have a very strange sense of humour according to my school Heidie after being excluded several times for several pranks! The word is incorrigible ... but in my defence, my freinds tended to 'incorrige' me!

But hard work? Naah, I was offline for two months and my TV blew up. Not much else to do but read and put my gift to good use.

Happy you enjoyed it ... but I wish more people took part. I get a wee buzz out of it. But it's ended now ... so I'm at a Buzz Stop!

If everyone's agreeable ... new quiz in about a week or so. :D

They were wonderfully twisted questions! I can see them all quite clearly now that I know the answers :D

Cleopas

Post by Cleopas » 19 Nov 2006, 20:45

Cheers guys ... but if I make them any easier, I'll be told they're not hard enough. What does an admittedly good-looking and utterly charming hunk of maleness like me do?

I think the next one IS much easier ... but I made them up! And there will always be a real stinker or two to provoke everyone's ole grey cells into much unused to activity. (I'll get a kicking for that!)

Let's hear the membership's suggestions on when the next one should be. Never again is NOT an option!!! :)

Leader board now updated Cleopas. Thanks for offering your quiz.Would have taken part more seriously, but it may have resulted in divorce. Homer is not a huge fan of the amount of time I currently spend on POL matters, without me abandoning him on a Friday night .

Thank you Marya.

These quizzes don't have to be on a Friday night. In the past, the quiz ended on the same night ... but I let it run over this time due to not being available online all the time. I think that's the way to go. Dadaist's music quizzes always lasted a lot longer.

So I think I'll do the same if that's okay. It means everyone can dip in and have a go at any time. Of course. I'll post up correct answers as soon as I spot them. It means the quiz could last all week.

Anyone disagree??

Looking forward to another quiz Cleopas, but not Friday night this week please. I came in too late to notch up much points on the last one so need to get in on the easy ones if poss. :D

Cleopas

Post by Cleopas » 21 Nov 2006, 00:48

Understand where you're coming from, TG ... but no matter when the quiz starts ... somebody is going to feel it's the wrong time ... it's happened every time so far ... I can't win. :(

Which is why I think letting the Quiz run all week ... and I come in and fill in the right answers when I need to, is the way to go. Competitors will just to have hang on to see who's right and who's wrong and who gets the points.

Otherwise someone is always going to feel left out and I'd like to avoid that if I can.

As for easy vs hard questions ... to me they're all easy!
