Book Recycling

Post by Dakota » 12 Nov 2006, 14:01

After a recent clear-out, I have a suitcase-full of books (etc) that I want to donate to charity -- probably too many to give to one of the local shops. I know there are book-recycling points in Edinburgh, but I haven't a clue where the nearest one is. Any thoughts? East Edinburgh or East Lothian preferred.
I don't believe in Beatles.

Shelter runs a few bookshops in Stockbridge and the Southside. Give them a bell and see if they'll pick up for you too.

Aternatively, hand them into the local library ... or tell us what the genres and titles are and see if anyone here wants them.

That's what I would do if I were giving books away ... which I'm not ... which I never will ... cos I love books ... I'm a collector (hoarder! )

The council dump at Seafield has an ingenious receptacle run by the British Heart Foundation for recycling books. It's bright red - you can't miss it.
