" I danced with a man who danced with a girl..........
I know someone whose flat is next door to the flat of someone from a famous, internationally known Edinburgh band. I've been reliably informed that you can clearly hear the carnal - sorry - carnival atmosphere!
Anyone who has ever been subjected to the "bonk, bonk, bonk" sound of those (either in a shared flat or through tenement walls) engaged in bed-hammering at odd hours will know what I mean.
I mean, really. Gonnae keep it doon eh.

I have been interviewed by both Jonathan Ross and Anita Roddick. Met Michael Stipe and caught a glimpse pf Tom Cruise at the same hotel. I've been clipped by Bruce Apringsteen's limo and made an idiot of myself when I realised I was sharing a cafe table with Iain "you always get change at agnews" Sutherland.
Annabel Giles was round my old flat once - her kid by Midge Ure was playing on my Nintendo.
Also, I served a bottle of Becks to Steven Berkoff. His wallet was stuffed with pound notes. He said something to me, I couldn't make it out and I couldn't be bothered asking him what he said.
And, the bank manager off of "City Lights" - you know "WILLIAM!" - I offered to take his pizza box off him and put it in the bin bag, but no he did it by himself. For a star, that impressed me as quite down to earth.

A company I worked with hired him for the day to present a "This is Your Life" type show for company day. I was one of the people who had a story to tell so I got interviewed by him privately and then on stage. he was mega impressive. I don't like some of the stuff he does on tele, he is too filthy. However, in "real" life he is total professional. He supposedly got £12,000 for 4 hours work and at the time I thought he was worth it. If you look at his latest beeb contract, the company got him for sweeties.Dadaist wrote:Woof. When/how/what was the Jonathan Ross thing?
As some of you may remember, youngest bellybaby got picked up, dusted off and kissed better by Christian Slater...but I wasn't there. Andy Crane's kids are in the same class at school as my niece. Oh, and I had dinner three years ago in Cairo with the entire Juventus football team...mmmm....well, not quite the same table, but same small restaurant.
And I made the front page headline of Scotland on Sunday once, but under a pseudonym.

I've had a G&T with Alistair Darling and Michael Barratt of Nationwide fame (one of them paid for the drink). This was to do with electioning for MB being Rector of Aberdeen - Iain Cuthbertson won, though (and it was he whom I voted for, mainly because I was even then no great fan of AD - but who was I to spurn a lunchtime drinkie
).
My family were at his son's eighteenth recently. But, in the spirit of this thread, I wasn't there...! I seem to make a habit of this, don't I?Poppy wrote:I've had a G&T with Alistair Darling

Just found a letter home written in 1972. Barratt did win! Iain Cuthbertson won against Sir Fred Catherwood (who he??

I've shaken hands with Mikhail Gorbachev - in the City Council.
Been in Penguin Biscuit Adverts (twice).
Scored a goal against Henry Smith at Edinburgh Zoo.
Got Alexander Risk to sign a post it (he used to sign the Bank of Scotland notes).
Been out with several football stars daughters, from Hibs, Hearts and Rangers. Not saying anymore bout them.

I've had drinkies with Bill Paterson several times, danced with Robby Coltrane at a party in Viewforth, wore Billy Connolly's famous banana wellies, roadied for the band that played at Bobby Carlyle's wedding, served Brian Cox a cuppa coffee, got an autograph and spoke with Leonard Nimoy for 10 minutes, worked backstage for George Takei's one-man show, polished Alan Cummings shoes for him ... and can't tell you the dirty bits since I'm keeping them for when I finally decide to write my kiss and tell biography!!! So there!!!
