HELP - printer repair

Post by lor » 23 Sep 2006, 11:45

hi i've got a printer/scanner - epson cx3200 - which needs a repair. it wont feed in paper. i took it to a shop and they said it wouldn't be worth fixing because of the cost of looking at it - that seems ridiculous. does anyone know anyone locally who might take a look at it for a reasonable cost? thanks

Also try the computer supplies shop opposite the Town Hall.
Its run by some Polish (?) guys and they are very helpful and do repairs.

Try this:

Clean the pickup rollers (usually at the front) with some foam cleaner.

Then check the exit (where the paper comes out, goes in).

Fold a piece of A4 paper over itself and try feeding in from the bottom or
from the top. Be firm with the paper it may help in pushing whatever is
causing the jam.

Another thing to look at is any levers that may come into contact
with the print heads or paper, that may be bunged up also.
"So spin that wheel, cut that pack!
And roll those loaded dice
Bring on the dancing girls,
And put the champagne on ice"
