Inspiring Volunteering: A Volunteering Strategy for Edinburgh
Inspiring Volunteering is the first strategy of its kind in Scotland (a local strategy) and provides a clear framework for the future development of volunteering in Edinburgh. We are now circulating the Consultation Draft of Inspiring Volunteering along with a consultation questionnaire, which can be completed online at
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=421962428419
Questionnaires completed online are much appreciated as they cut down on our administration, and make the collation of responses much easier. However if you prefer, you can complete the questionnaire attached instead, and either email or post it back to us. A hardcopy can also be sent to you on request.
The consultation draft of Inspiring Volunteering, and the consultation questionnaire can also be downloaded from the Volunteer Centre Edinburgh website at:
www.volunteeredinburgh.org.uk/strategy
Please direct your responses, or any queries about the Strategy to lara.celini@volunteeredinburgh.org.uk by 27th September 2006, or telephone Lara or Jean on 0131 225 0630.
We look forward to receiving your comments.
Yours sincerely
Harriet Eadie, Volunteering Strategy Working Group Edinburgh Compact Partnership
PS. We would also like to gather a selection of Volunteer Stories to include in the Volunteering Strategy, these will be used both to illustrate the range of volunteering opportunities and some of the positive outcomes. Please direct any volunteers who would be willing to share their story to the online Volunteer Stories template at:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=556722436696
or download the document called ‘Volunteer Story Template’ from:
www.volunteeredinburgh.org.uk/strategy
This is a great opportunity for your volunteers to get recognition of their work, and potentially to raise awareness of the work of your organisation. For example, Volunteer Stories may also be used to promote volunteering on the Volunteer Centre Edinburgh website, on exhibition stands etc.
