Cruising Porty

Post by rapunzell » 09 Jul 2006, 16:03

Thanks to Rathbone's beachy post today, I have just remembered that last Friday the 'Maid of the Forth' sailed all the way along Porty beach towards Musselburgh and then back during the spectacular sunset. I've never seen her up this way before.

The website http://www.maidoftheforth.com doesn't mention this route as a regular event, so either she was waaay off course for Inchcolme, or it was a private booze cruise charter - advertising itself as a possibility for the next POL night out! :D

The Maid of the Forth has appeared here once or twice every summer over the 4 years I've been here, Rappy, but maybe you've been too busy with your chocs etc!? Quite a sight eh?

I was quite excited at the thought of hopping on for a sunset tour of the bay! Wine glass in one hand, bowl of chocolates at the other, cushion at my back, feet up on the gunnels.. :D

I'm thinking if we waded out far enough they'd have to let us aboard and refresh us at the bar : ) Or we could use a certain person's kayak to shuttle out there..
