Stone Pony Disaster

Post by Porty » 16 Jun 2006, 12:53

For a while I was an avid poster on a Springsteen fan site: Stone Pony London

http://www.spl-messages.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

I have not posted there regularly for almost two years but I did have more than 4000 posts. Some people had over 15,000 posts. It is an awesome site, it held thousands of DVD's, Concerts, Bootlegs etc, etc of Springsteen stuff.

I visiited again today, as Son of Porty is going to see Bruce in Cleveland tonight. Disaster has struck. In May The whole thing crashed and was irrecoverable. The back-ups were corrupt too. Can this happen to POL? What protection do we have?

It already happened to a certain extent when one of the all time classic threads (forget what it was called but it was the one about the big brother miami vice style flats at the bottom of Bath Street house type thing - oh you know what I mean!!!!!) was deleted by mistake.
I think I'm right in saying that it was all Marya's fault - I'm sure she'll correct me if i'm wrong!!

So are you saying that if we take her out of the equation all should be well from now on?
