Kayaking

Post by Novastar » 16 May 2006, 16:32

Hi all..

I've heard occassionally people talking about kayakers out on the sea at Porty (normally on the Jetski thread) and was wondering if anyone knew any more. Is it any good? Do you need a license or permission?

Any info would be appreciated. Think me and my brothers might be on spend our holidays this year touring round Britain with our kayaks and trying to persuade them to get off their behinds and come up here..

If you're down at the beach about 6.30 tonight, me and a few pals will be taking on the waves in our kayaks We're white water river kayakers, but do the Porty trip to keep us out the pub. You don't need permission. Porty is usually quite sheltered as long as you stay within your limitations and dodge the jet skiis!. If you're going further afield, then it makes sense to let the coastgaurd know, just in case. If you need any other info, PM me.
