Telewest Reload etc
Telewest Reload etc
Anyone else getting Service Temp Unavailable messages for Reload, Films etc etc?
I've tried switching off at the wall to no effect and batteries in remote checked. Also the middle light next to the channel number is flashing away.
Help!!
Please.

All seems to be fine here.
If I ever get the flashing light thing, I just switch off at the wall and then restart.
But you've tried that.
You've probably just shifted something out of whack in your spring-cleaning frenzy.
Anyway, don't panic. Some kind soul will think of someway of fixing it before the Adult Movie channel comes on at 9.00pm.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
( here's a real long shot, you could phone the Telewest folks!)

Hello Gizmo - have not called Telewest yet - thought I'd do a POL SOS first in case it was something embarrassinglyGizmo wrote:Hello
Have you tried calling telewest? They can reset the box. We had the flashing light problem recently, but unfortunately it turned out that the box was broken. Hopefully that won't apply to your box!
My box is changing channels OK so that's fine meantime. Will see what's what tomorrow, then try Telewest.
Well, G and E, phoned Telewest (they never used to be open at this time!) and she said that there is an "issue" in my area so she can't book an engineer. I've to leave it for 24 hours and if it's not better I've to call back - just like going to the doctor!!
I should not even have TV according to the report she's getting
Don't know what " area" means - must be quite small as ecm is only a few hundreds yards away really (although on the wrong side of the High Street!!).

Just hope it's not my box as well as an "issue" - as it's no doubt full of cat hair as my mog thought I paid £20 pm to Telewest for a heated sleeping area for her to spend her days on when my lap was not available! Spookily when she went to stay at Plug's house she honed in on his Telewest box without hesitation and felt quite at home!Gizmo wrote:fingers crossed then. Sounds promising that other people are also having 'issues' with their boxes
Whiskas??!! Huh. My dear wee cat was called Mousie [ ] and was on some expensive Hills Science diet stuff for her kidneys. You could be right about the litter - she would only use Thomas which was cheap but dusty and made both of us sneeze. And I'll bet they'll find some of her daily kidney tablets in the box too.foxy wrote:It'll be the cat litter and Whiskas...is your Mog called Aerial

Don't be cheeky!!ecm wrote:What an emotional rollercoaster of a thread.
I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight.
Are you having to put up with terrestial "tramps" tv tonight then, Pops?
I can get all my digi-channels, you will relieved and thrilled to know - but my box is not receiving Reload (or something!). Probably a cat hair clogging some wire!
Tradesman? He is a technician.ecm wrote:Stop blaming the poor cat. You've sabotaged that box in order to lure an unsuspecting tradesman round to your lair, eh, hoose.
Actually, I'm just being cheeky cos I'm jealous that you're on hols now and I'm back at the office.
Meh!
Am in fact also expecting a joiner to fix ma hoose's window catches so I hope they don't arrive at the same time!!
Glad to note you said back at "the office" rather than "at work"!!

Not really related - but I couldn't connect to the internet over last 24 hours.... phoned them up three times today, 1st and 3rd guys were ok ... but the 2nd guy!!!! I spoke with him for 45 mins, after 15 mins he couldn't figure it out & he then spent the next 30 mins either silent, or asking me if the pc / modem was switched on..... he asked me maybe 30 times - i honestly think he was having a nervous breakdown - i felt really bad so didn't want to just hang up.Gizmo wrote: Have you tried calling telewest?
When i called the 3rd guy i asked him to find the poor lad and make sure he was ok !!
Maybe the poor traumatised soul had been assigned to Poppy earlier in the dayPortyConvert wrote:Not really related - but I couldn't connect to the internet over last 24 hours.... phoned them up three times today, 1st and 3rd guys were ok ... but the 2nd guy!!!! Now I've stopped crying at Foxy's hurtful comment, I thought I'd let you know that all is fixed.
The problem came and went - and this was because at peak viewing times too many people were using broadband and my box was not receiving a strong enough signal. This was resolved by the technician taking out the cable from the back of the box and unscrewing an extra bit that was screwed onto the 'plug' as that extra bit was causing my box to not get the right signal. Et voila.

This is amusing-ish...had to get Telewest back as fault still coming and going so got a new box. When the guy shook the old box it was not cat hairs but sand that flew out!
Mouse must have picked up some in her fur and paws when out for her occasional wander, but the rest must have been walked in by humans and been blown in through the window!
How's your computer, Portyconvert? Is it full of sand too??

No help from telewest i might add - although there were greater evils at work
