web-based school management system

Primarily of interest to teachers (of which I know we have 2 ) but also parents and pupils who all get logins on this thing - fresh from the US although I'm sure there is a UK equivalent - web-based school management.

teachers can do scheduling and grading at home etc

there is even a cafeteria module integrated in the system which deals with pupils lunchtime swipe cards etc

You know me Dadaist; I don't know my bytes from my bits. However, I do know that schools already run a package called Phoenix which allows a staff member to find out a pupil's grades, home contact details, timetable details, class lists etc. from computers within the school network. I'm not sure you would want such info being web-based for security reasons?

There is also a web-based scheme currently being piloted by Scottish schools where homework tasks can be entered on-line by staff and accessed by pupils in their own homes, though I'm afraid I can't remember the address of this scheme

Pupils and staff at my school use swipe cards to purchase school meals and top up their cards using various 'pay stations' around the school.
