I was at an event recently where Great Grog were doing a wine tasting.

I was wondering if any POLers would be interested holding a wine tasting locally? Richard would prefer either in holding the tasting in a hall or at their premises in Rose Street.

Poll will run for 7 days to gauge interest. Obviously would have to find out costs.

I've had a whole day now to recover from the last POL Big Day Out, so thought it would be a shame if Sandra's wine tasting idea got buried. Anymore out there fancy a wine tasting?
We're hopeful it could be held locally in a well-know Porty emporium

Well....

Think we'd need to get some more interested bods for it to be held in Porty's emporium -

What its costed at is:

If using clients own venue
Â£14min a head for wines and talks
Â£17min a head for Champagnes and sparkling wines
Â£20min a head for Champagne only

BUT

30 people minimum or Â£360 minimum - question is would ten of us want to spend Â£36 each?

(though if Friday's anything to go by, no problem

)

Other options are joining a pre-organised Grog event in their premises in Rose Street or hiring the backroom with wines and tasting notes.

Thoughts please?

Why not have it in someones house and each person bring 2 bottles Wine, the Hostess with the Mostess could Supply the Cheese.

"Bingo" A cheap Cheese and Wine Do at half the Price.

Did everyone bring Blue Nun and Le Piat d'or then?

It was after the Friend's Reunited job and we all went to Porty's shop (our first ever get together), needless to say when we all went to our respective homes Jay fell asleep in the bath, me on the kitchen floor and BC in his usual spot

One of us was locked in the loo or something? There was definitely a loo-related reason to our tardiness.

I enjoyed our trip to the Plough. And I didn't wake up the next day in my bath, on the kitchen floor or on the loo floor.

Really good to hear all you guys reminiscing, sounds like you all had a really good evening or am i picking up the wrong vibes. If it was a disaster don't bother, if it was good, get on with planning the Next Event.

That was my first and last POL event. While the youngest in attendance and partial to a fair peeve now and again, I realised these people were in on an altogether different drinking plateau and to get involved in this kind of carnage on a regular basis would only lead to disaster

When I sat next to Porty at the Xmas do I realised that I was in the company of a professional - seasoned, and worthy of respect.
