The Bard at the Beach

Post by Maria » 09 Jan 2006, 17:41

POD have organised an 'alternative' Burns supper "The Bard at the Beach"on Sat 28 Jan., 7 pm - midnight, in Portobello Community Centre. There'll be a wee bite to eat (Findlay’s Haggis, neeps and tatties and a dram), a bar and a wee bit entertainment.
It'll feature local musicians and artistes and a prize will be awarded for the best dressed Burns character.
Sign up for a "Burns Turn" at sheilamc@supanet.com.
Tickets priced at £7, £4 (concessions) and £3 (children) can be purchased from Kitchener's and Portobello Stationers.
(If you require veggie haggis please say when buying your ticket.)

Oh yummy it's that time of year again, I do like my haggis. Not sure if I can make that one but I'm going to the Burns supper at the Old Parish Church on the 21st :D

Hope the Bellfield Burns went well at the weekend.

For those of you who missd the boat, there is still time for your annual top up of Burns, haggis, etc.

There are still plnety tickets for the POD event available from Kitcheners Deli and Porty Stationers.

This will be a great evening with the cream of Porty's musicians and artistes, including:

Ronak Baja who played at the Porty Party on the prom last year

Eileen Penman

Jenny Gardner of the Belle Stars

Tim Dixon

Dave cooper and members of the Robert Fish Band

The baguettes who played so beautifully for us at last year's PCATS Burns

Alex McSherry and Karen McLean will be reciting.

There will be the customary Findlay's haggis and a free dram, plus bar, dancing and you won't recognise the community centre!

A fantastic night out for only £7 or less.
