Truly weird co-incidence

Post by Dadaist » 03 Aug 2004, 22:38

I've worked out an utterly strange co-incidence revolving around this board.

It turns out that I knew / worked with one of our regular posters.

Not only that, I very briefly owned their house.

The question is - should I

1) not tell even that person just to annoy them and you all

2) tell them but not you so as to have a chuckle with them at the weirdness whilst still respecting their privacy

3) sing like a canary

What will be really interesting is the difference between the response of the person (who will probably post in this thread) to the above 3 choices when they find out it's actually them.....

Bob - don't worry, I won't post any personal info without prior consent from them if it's 2. or 3.

Where's the fun in that, then?

Porty darling, I'm developing a soft spot for you, in spite of your gruff exterior <grin>. But i'm afraid I'm not annoyed.

And I know it's not me so I say...spill!

If this turns out to be Mr Bean from the BBC it will be the most fun in these parts for quite some time.

By my reckoning it's a tie, which means that the Status Quo wins ergo a de facto win for Porty.

Does anyone actually understand what's happening here?

And BTW it's not me either.

I think.

I'm glad you mentioned this, because I think there is a worrying trend here. Lately, I have found that fewer and fewer threads are actually making any sort of sense. I think we are losing our collective mind.

As far as I can gather, it's not me. Shred my diaries, I wasn't even in the country at the time etc. But then I would say that, wouldn't I?

I thought I was keeping up quite nicely with this thread but now I'm worried.
:?
Whatever, I know it's not me.
Or is it?

What's it all about again?

Aha! I bet it's Beach babe. You definitely knew her. And probably owned at least half of her house.

And the reason i'm so sure it's not me is that i've never had a (oh, must take a moment to salute the capitalist patriarchy) "job" in edinburgh other than the very full time one I still have and which doesn't involve co-workers, only "service users". Although we keep meeitng people that used to own our house - except for the ones we bought it from, who ran away to the borders or somewhere leaving us to deal with the Sheriff's officers, police officers and bailiffs who were rather keen to find them...

Fine. By my reckoning the consensus is to talk.

I will at some point PM the person involved (and it isn't Beach Babe) and reveal my identity and the bizarre circumstances that have brought us together. Again.

....and spot the deliberate mistake as I just posted that from Mrs Dadaist's laptop, which she was still logged in to the forum with.

Duh.

Sorry to make an already mysterious thread slightly more confusing.

I have a tupperware box in my cupboard full of hand rolled plantation cigars that I brought back from the Vinales valley in Cuba. Do you smoke, Wangi?
