What a game! 3-0 down at half-time and Liverpool were dead and buried. What a comeback and what an inspirational performance by Steven Gerrard. Fantasy football indeed.

I went to Anfield in 1974. My team, Carlisle United, were drawn against them in the 4th round of the FA Cup. Shankly's Liverpool were one of the best teams in Europe at the time, with Clemence, Hughes, Keegan, Cormack, Heighway and Toshack in the starting eleven.

We held them 0-0 in front of 47,000 and got chased all the way to the train station by scousers, who gave my mate a good kicking and stole all his money and took the rings off his fingers. I remember this kid, about 10 years old, who threw himself at me and held on like a scarf as I continued to run before he eventually fell off.

Needless to say, we played them off the park in the replay before unluckily going down to two late goals. They went on to win the cup that year.

What a fantastic game, normally I feel sorry for any team that goes out on penalties but not last night.

Yep...I got drawn into watching too, especially as Liverpool made that remarkable comeback in the second half.

Didn't enjoy it half as much as Homer who was 'tired and emotional' when he came home, after his time spent in the pub in the company of two Chelski fans and two Italian fans who were gloating at half-time

Homer was supporting the Reds BTW....and was forced to drown his sorrows at that point

My memories of watching footie in Liverpool are a bit like Bob and involve being on the receiving end of a lot of spittle and general gobbing and abuse.

My memories of working there are full of observation of the tedious tedious anti-manchester 'banter' from the chirpy scouser 'jokers'.

And they all had an ambition to move to the Isle of Man.

Very good idea. I think there's probably just enough room for them.

I've been to Anfield too (it was on a New Year's Day v's Sheffield Wednesday BTW). Must say the scousers I was with treated me very well indeed, but then again I was supporting the right team

I've also been spat at and threatened by Aberdeen fans while walking down Easter Road to a Hibees game and witnessed at first hand the bloodbath that follows any old firm match in Glasgow.

So let's think, what does all this prove...?

It proves that there are "people" who call themselves fans but are really more interested in causing trouble and use football as an excuse, nationwide. Every team in the country has them.
As an Aberdeen supporter myself it saddens me that they in particular get a really bad press(deservedly so quite often) and unfortunately it seems impossible to keep these yobs at bay.
