One of my colleagues informed me that it is National Nurse's Day today and that apparently the plan was for everyone to be nice to us nurses. Only thing is - I don't know anyone else who knows
The day was set for today as it was Florence Nightengale's birthday. She was famous for bringing peoples attention to the importance of cleanliness in hospitals and it's influence on patient recovery. Wonder where that knowledge got lost in so many more recent cases?

If it was just about one guy, it would be Apostrophe's week.
In this context, it would be everyone called Apostrophe.
Did you know that apostrophe is an anagram of "ha pope rots"?

...and also "a hoper post", or "a poster hope" if you prefer.
And for basketball fans - "hoops rate".

Since it's you Dadaist, let's be pedantic here.
Porty isn't grammatically wrong.
If there is a guy called Apostrophes, as his name ends in 's' then you just add the apostrophe without the extra 's' to form the possessive case.

Dada, it's a pity that you seem to have missed the point of this thread by your pernickety use of grammer.

True, as in "Brutus' orchard". But Porty didn't know which was the correct spelling of the name when he asked. Therefore the full sentence of mine could be misinterpreted - I did not seek to correct Porty, merely to provide context in an abbreviated manner, which is why I didn't say "If it was just about one guy called Apostrophe, it would be Apostrophe's week".
Rather I sought to simultaneously provide additional comical material for Porty whilst giving a grammatical compass, should DG have sought to correct her error. At no point did I either seek to correct her or Porty, or be anything other than nice to nurses, teachers, mortgage advisors and any other professional or unprofessional tradesperson.

Hey, leave him alone, he provides more than enough comic material for everyone around here.
