Taxi Horns when you are sleeping

Post by portyallmydays » 08 May 2005, 22:04

What is it about taxi drivers that they think they can "toot" their horns at any time of the night! Last year, I got wakened by a "Burgh" taxi right outside my bedroom window at 4.30am tooting his horn to let a neighbour know that he had arrived. They came out seconds later with their cases for goodness sake, so its not as if they wouldnt be looking out for him! Then last night about 12.15 I was just starting to get to sleep, when "toot toot" at the front of my house, then heard the car drive round the corner and "toot toot" again. He sat for a few minutes, got out dropped something into an empty wheelie bin, slammed the lid shut, got back in his car and drove away when his fare got in. Again it was a private hire taxi. I've never heard a black cab do this. Anyway, heres hoping I get a better sleep tonight!! As long as thers no gangland fighting near the Tides...........

Many, although certainly not all taxi drivers, appear to be glued to their seat. They honk horns instead of instead of getting out of their vehicles and as for opening the doors for their customers................. :(
