Introducing ... Oscar (the cat)

Post by Dadaist » 26 Apr 2005, 20:57

Dada clan have a new friend, Oscar the cat.

Oscar was a stray, and was hit by a car which hurt his leg (bad car, bad!) but is absolutely fine - he was lodging temorarily with the nice people at the SSPCA at Balerno, but wanted a new set of humans. He is the tender age of 1 and a bit.

So far he has attempted to climb up the chimney, has done a tour of every precarious surface in the house, prefers to drink water from Beach Babe's glass and shouts at us every time we open the fridge. He has turned mealtimes into a hilarious slapstick juggling act between him, Neo-Dadaist and our food (something akin to the "Fox and Chickens" puzzle) and is generally fitting in splendidly.

Ooh, ooh, did you steal Clan Marya's new cat?! I hear he has a penchant for chimneys etc too... I think you stole him and dyed him a funny colour so Marya would think he just left via the chimney one night...

But if not, then he's lovely, and I'm very glad you have someone to carry on the great traditions of Chester the Great.

I assure you that Oscar is very much his own cat. I like to think of him as Luke Skywalker to Chester's Obi-Wan Kenobi, although BB says he is more of an R2-D2 what with all the warbles!!

Don't you think you had a rather hasty mourning period  A bit disrespectful to old Chester I'd say - replacing him with some young, handsome upstart so soon. I'd get Beachbabe to question how quickly you'd replace her...........
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Oscar looks a real cute bundle of fun. All that fur would terrify me though - just think of all that grooming (and hairballs  ). My friend has a longhaired cat that has just had one of it's periodic trips to the vets to be shaved . He's been left with a ruff around his head and a wee ball of fur at the end of his tail.

Marya! How could you?!

No wonder the yoof of today struggle so with English if this is how their teachers write!

Too right! I know we have a forum rule about this, but English teetchers are fair game. This is a resignation issue as far as I'm concerned.

poor little baldy cat

I thought Oscar's fur would be more difficult to look after than it actually is. He's classed as a semi-long haired so don't know if that makes a difference. We only groom him every so often (ie when we remember lol) but there never seems to be any matted bits. However, that may all change when he starts going out and getting dirty

He meant mine and his, not yours, I'm afraid.
