Rosie's Wish is for snow to fall in Portobello as it never snows there...
Our liitle ones are enjoying this one at story time (despite the suggested age range). Apparently Isla Dewar stayed in Porty until she moved to Crail.
PS surely it must snow here sometimes?
Please?

It really does snow here sometimes - last year in fact - and we have the pics to prove it!

Well Mr M, we have one solitary photo of snow in our garden here.
We miss it too - other half is from the Highlands, where it always snows, and I come from a town where it's been known to snow in June, and then via Sheffield where it snows a lot. And when it does it really does - the whole city comes to a standstill.

I think the last substantial snow we had here was a long time ago when my kids were small. We built a big snowman in Figgate Park and put two pences in as eyes. When we walked round the pond we saw two wee boys pinching the money!

We've had flurries since but nothing to write home about as far as I remember. I do remember one year when I was a lot younger (shut it!) when there was actually ice on the sea.
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Mr M,
On your recommendation, I bought Rosie's Wish and we love it. Eldest was particularly pleased at the mention of Portobello and its lack of snow. Ad I've already said that i will be as grumpy as Rosie's mother unless I get lots of happy helpers in the kitchen!
Thanks for telling us about it.

Fingers crossed Mr M. Just read that the bookies have shortened the odds considerably for a white Christmas

They were! - but a bit disappointed this morning. I told them not to worry, I would go out and see if I could get stuck on a motorway somewhere to keep the excitement going.

Eldest offspring said to me this morning, "Rosie got her wish, and now I've got mine!".
