Royal High School grand reunion bash!

Post by Spike » 22 Nov 2004, 14:49

I'm posting the following on behalf of a schoolfriend. I'll be attending myself - I know it's a year away but I also hope to catch up with a few non-RHS old pals while back in Auld Reekie that weekend so if those on here who know me fancy meeting up for a pint while I'm in town, let me know!

*********************************************

Were you a first-year pupil at the RHS between 1971 and 1975? Did you leave the RHS between 1976 and 1980? Did you teach at the RHS between 1971 and 1980?

If so, come along and join in the fun at the biggest-ever school reunion bash! Catch up with your long-lost friends and meet your former teachers and pupils again while dancing, eating and drinking the night away in style!

Featuring a ceilidh band, sit-down buffet and entertainment.

Venue: The Royal High School, Barnton, Edinburgh

Date: Saturday, 12th November 2005.

Cost: to be announced.

Sadly not although I've been to tackle people in my time!

No, I'm the Spike as in punk Spike who used to hang out on the punk scene back in the mid to late 70s...

Must have been a fair few folk called Spike back then. I knew one that went to Telford and had a blonde flat-top. Seem to remember she was from Fife so that won't have been you either :P

I definitely hope to see Bob again but last time he refused! I think he thinks I'm too scary these days except I'm dead fwuffy weally!

oooh a pint with ecm and a Valve or two would be good as well...

It's still a year away so unless I have a compelling reason to jump on a train in the interim it'll be Nov 2005 before anyone sees me :(

But when it gets nearer the time, I'll be thinking about a nice pub to meet up with old pals.

Deffo not me.

I'm the Sassenach Spike who lived in Davidson's Mains then Broughton Street and I had black spiky hair (hence the nick) and - so I'm told - a passing resemblance to Siouxsie Sioux. I can't see it myself. I wanted to post an avatar of me how I looked back then but I can't unless the very lovely Mr Jefferson will do it for me!

Spike, no problem. Just send me the photograph you want to use and I'll be happy to take care of the rest.

Will do but are you going to brave enough to enter a pub with me? I promise to leave my riding crop at home...

While I ponder this (perhaps we should have a poll?) here's another picture of the very lovely Spike from 1978.

Um, yes, no, maybe! You're confusing me. Let's have a short musical interlude.
