Re: New Portobello High School - Private Bill Porty Park
The Comely Bank anomaly is purely down to PPAG canvassing in Waitrose. They realised, too late, that their best chance of gaining support was to canvass outwith the catchment area, the further away the better in fact, where people were unlikely to be aware of the facts and were therefore more susce...

Re: PPAG's latest dirty tricks at Morrisons
I was at Morrison's at about 10am on Saturday morning and was a bit surprised to see a table set up between the two sets of doors manned by people looking for signatures to Save Porty Park. I didn't see any sign of any activity for those on the other side of the issue but there might well have been...

PPAG's latest dirty tricks at Morrisons
Does anyone know what happened at Morrisons ? I saw people speaking to shoppers and were asking them to support the new school being built on the park. I did not stop as I have already submitted my support but I later heard that PPAG were tipped off, turned up and there was some conflict between the...

Re: New Portobello High School - PPAG win legal appeal
I just read the Council report in its entirety. One striking detail is the response to St John's Parent Council's survey of their community. You will recall that in the days when Alison Connelly ran the show and had months to garner community opinion, the parent council managed to get about 6 respo...

Geoff -Re consultation. Is the website you mention the official place for parents to put in their comments? If so who wrote the pros and cons? There appear to be a lot of assumptions being made. Re: New Portobello High School - PPAG win legal appeal
I somehow get the feeling that the idea of the "feasibility" study is to show that there is only ONE site feasible, Portobello Park. When it comes down to it, they are trying to show that it is not the percentage of "parkland" or "green space" that is the problem, it is THEIR "greenspace" and "park...

Officials are preparing a report for the Council meeting on the 25th. It'll be in the public domain on the 18th.
