Re: Rock n Roll Half Marathon
100% agree it expensive, only reason I can think of is the expense of closing roads and hiring all the pa equipment for all the bands. Must be pricey. I thankfully managed to get free entry so happy days

Re: Rock n Roll Half Marathon
Possibly but they have a beer tent and live gig at the end in Holyrood Park so had to enter :-) Relieved that there are road closures though, can't have people running across live roads. That would almost be as mad as getting children to play chicken on a dual carrigeway to get the school, imagine P...

Portobello Gala Day
Hi there My Aunt just sent me a couple of picture from the Gala day (circa 1991?) I was on the float with my Gran, Aunt and Brother. Although you cant really see us in the pictures. I remember it being a great day out, maybe thats just me being nostalgic? Has there ever been any chat about setting t...

Re: Big Wheel for Portobello?
Im for it....I think but as long as it is not exactly where the wheel is places in the picture. I just bought a house because of the view out to the beach and one side of my view is being blocked by the extension to Towerbank Primary, this would completely block out my view if it was placed where it...

Re: How can we revive our High Street?
I have two ideas, one is a running shop, theres nothing to serve the local people in porty, musselburgh, joppa, nothfield etc. If im in Porty and wany proper running shoes i have to head to the nearest place which is up Lothian Road, Bruntsfield etc. What do you think about a sports/running shop in ...

Re: How can we revive our High Street?
I am looking at opening up premises on the high street in 2012, have an idea that the local community might love. All hush hush for now, need to keep an eye out for premises up for rent.
Will post here when the wheels are in motion

Re: Bath Street Loos
Hey, I have long been baffled by the public toilets on Bath Street. When I was a boy they were usually empty and dirty and they still are to this day. I agree that something could be done to make them more useful to the local area. How do we go about this? I am new to this site, moving to Portobello...
