I've had a few computer problems recently so have been unable to join in the discussion relating to the proposal to build new houses on 19-24 Prom. Here's one or two little points that you may not be aware of Plannners in Edinburgh usually work to guidelines that ask for 18 metres of seperation dist...

Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to object to the plan to build houses in front of the Cottages on Bath Place...but guess what....... It looks as though our Public servants in Edinburgh Councils Planning Department have decided yet again that they know better than us residents......

I agree wholeheartedly with Fred, and all the other folks that have the interests of the Historic feel for that area at the corner of Bath Place and Bath Street. The row of cottages will be hidden from view if we all stand by and do nowt. I think it's time that we let the authorities know that enoug...

Thanks very much for that info Wangi ...call me a cynic, but I think this might well be a deliberate ploy to throw those of us that intend to object to the new houses, off our stride. i.e. If the agents acting on behalf of the developer suddenly make their application good, by doing all that is need...

IF we don't show our resistance to all these ugly new buildings going up in Portobello, w...

To reply to Bob's question...yes Bob the planning application is numbered 03/04361/OUT..at this stage it would appear that the application is for outline planning permission only. My guess would be that, if this outline planning permission is granted, then an application for a block of modern lookin...

I would recommend anyone who has a view on the proposal to write to the Head of Planning as soon as possible. If we all assume that "some-one else" will write to object to the ridiculous proposal to biuld new housing within such a nice corner of Portobello, then the proposal might become fact. I've ...

I agree with the views of Mark regarding us the residents of Portobello writing to the Head of Planning, at Edinburgh Council to object to this proposed housing development. It's time the 'authorities were made to realise that enough is enough. We live in a lovely part of Scotland's Capital City, wh...
