Her family lived in Joppa all thier lives and she was my bridesmaid on 23rd Feb.1963.Her name was Janette Lang she married and became Janette Rudd and went to canada.I believe she remarried again and lives in Joppa but ...

May Krause the wonder girl on skates.

This is to thank Margaret Munroe for the wonderfull article she wrote in the Portobello advertiser this month.
It was complimented with photos of my mother at the age of 15 years.Unfortunately my uncle Reynold Krause
died in hospital before the article was printed.june thomson

The Demarcos in the high street used to sell penny vantas and wonderful ice cream.The one on the prom used to have music and sell coffee ect.It had a tenement above it but that has been knocked down now. I used to have a paper round and along the promenade was part of my round.

We used to go to Demarcos on the prom. every sunday night it used to be packed out with teenagers.Does anyone else remember this? :)

I remember good times at phs. We went over to a house beside the catholic school to learn house keeping for two weeks. We all had a turn at doing different things in the house. I also remember the music teacher who played the dam busters music on the piano for us if we had behaved. Also the geograph...

just finished looking at your wonderfull postcards of Portobello.It brought back some wonderfull memories of my
childhood growing up there.The best thing is not much has changed since I went to school there.

That was my grandad's name and yes he had lost fingers on his hand in an accident but as far as I know he wasn't sent to the front.

My mother had an article in the paper she lived in portobello all her life.The article was about her when she was only 15years old and an ice skater her name was May Krause does anyone remember her.
